This is the week…

…that I have two one year olds living in my house. See, ‘M and Squishy are exactly 51 weeks apart. So every year during the week of Valentine’s Day, they are the same age. Crazy, I know.

This is also the week that I have to get over the fact that we are experiencing our last first birthday. Four babies is enough for our family. I am thrilled to pieces with the gifts we have been given – but, I’ll pass the bows on to somebody else 🙂

Still, babies do something to a house. First birthdays do something to the soul. Squishy is already a year old, and I will admit to that being bitter sweet. But, she doesn’t make it official with cake on the face until this weekend – so I have some time to rejoice and mourn…until the next big milestone.

  1. OMG!! I can’t get over how much they look like Maddy & Savannah….And I really can’t believe that she is already a year old. Has it really been that long ago that she was born?!! So sad…

  2. Oh April they grow SO fast don’t they?? Sigh… I undersand your bitter sweet-ness… 🙁 🙂

  3. What darling children!

Thank you for reminding me of that “First Birthday Feeling”. For my three experiences it was something like, “We made it through infancy, now we really start living” intertwined with a deep gratitude for the precious soul that God has entrusted us with to nourish and grow.

Congratulations!! (this is my 1st visit to your weblog and what a GREAT welcome two precious smiling faces!)

    • Heather – They are great aren’t they 🙂 Of course, I fully admit my bias 🙂 I love birthdays…I too feel that wonderous excitement. But, I am fairly certain that this will be our last first birthday, and that brings with a bit of sadness…not sad enough to have another 😉 but enough to reflect a little longer…

Thanks and I hope this first visit isn’t your last.

  4. What a beautiful child. Cherish the moments with your children because they will just keep growing up.
